Please read our statement to our Los Angeles Broker Challenge Supporters & LACRA Members regarding cancellation of the 34th Annual Los Angeles Broker Challenge that was scheduled for September 21, 2020.

The Los Angeles Broker Challenge is a competitive daytime sporting event and an evening reception established to encourage the Los Angeles Commercial Real Estate community to pool its resources and energy for the support of a worthwhile and charitable cause.

Broker Challenge provides an opportunity for Los Angeles real estate professionals to share a day of camaraderie and friendly competition as well as helping the community by raising funds to support the programs of Family Service of Santa Monica. For over 32 years, the Broker Challenge Community and LACRA have partnered with Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services to raise over $3 million for the children and families they serve. This is possible thanks to the generosity and participation of over 50 real estate companies, and over 300 participants each year.

This all-day event is filled with the following series of sports competitions including:

  • Paddle Tennis Tournament
  • Closest to the Pin Golf Competition
  • Basketball Shoot Out
  • Football Throw for Accuracy
  • Dunk Tank
  • Ping Pong Tournament
  • Playground Competitions (which include beer pong and other fun sand games)
  • Volleyball Classic
  • Texas Hold’em Poker
  • Ultimate Sumo Challenge
  • Breakfast, Lunch, Daytime Beer and Soda
  • Fantastic Beach Gift Bag
  • Lounging and Networking
  • DJ Music and fun under the sun!

After an exciting day of friendly competition and networking with industry professionals, participants enjoy a dinner reception under the stars, including evening cocktails and a taste of Santa Monica restaurants, music entertainment, and a fabulous opportunity drawing.

Los Angeles Commercial Realty Association

The Los Angeles Commercial Realty Association, established in 1983, is an association of real estate professionals who share a common purpose to elevate the professional, ethical, and educational standards of those engaged in marketing real estate in Greater Los Angeles. Among its goals, LACRA believes it has a responsibility to the community at large through volunteer and charitable work. It is this belief that has guided LACRA’s sponsorship of the Los Angeles Broker Challenge benefiting Family Service of Santa Monica for 34 years.

LACRA is committed to raising the funds necessary to support Family Service of Santa Monica and assure clients access to quality professional help. Together with Vista Del Mar, Family Service of Santa Monica is celebrating 105 years of service to our community. We are hoping that you will help by making a donation to support the lifesaving work and ensure that children and families served by Vista have access to COVID-19 essentials to make it through the pandemic.

LACRA is pleased to match donations and for each gift received, LACRA will match dollar for dollar, up to $25,000! Please visit our fundraising page to view a list of supporters, and make a donation:

Vista families reflect the most vulnerable populations in the United States, and do not have the resources to access essential food during this time. To ensure the safety for both Vista children and staff during the COVID-19 Pandemic, many of Vista’s programs have shifted to operating remotely. Vista’s number one focus is to continue to provide vital mental health services to children and families during this time in the most safe and healthy way possible. Sadly, Vista’s vulnerable population has been hit the hardest by the pandemic, so their needs are even more crucial.

Because many of the families served do not have WiFi or home access, Vista teachers are physically delivering lesson plans on a weekly basis. At the same time, teachers are able to drop off grocery store gift cards. We strive to ensure that every student has the tools and sustenance they need to make it through this pandemic.
